Environmental Policy
Independent Aviation accepts responsibility for the effects its operations have on both the local and global environment and is committed to reducing them. We have recently completed an Environmental Performance Audit, as a result of this report we have instigated an Environmental Management Plan.
To this end we have made the following commitments:
- We measure our impact on the environment and set targets for ongoing improvement and offsetting.
- The Company will comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
- The Company will implement a training program for its staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support in improving the Company's performance.
- Independent Aviation will encourage the adoption of similar principles by its suppliers.
The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:
- Offsetting the carbon emissions from every charter through the planting of biodiverse Australian native forests.
- Minimize waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
- Minimize emissions through the selection and use of our vehicles and source our power requirements through accredited renewable energy.
- Installation of a 'back to grid' solar system at our offices to supply a portion of our energy requirements.
- Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.
- Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company.
